Created for the 2023 Marist College Senior Thesis Exhibition. This project follows my personal experience of the loss of my mother. 

Artist Statement:

I strung my pearls and watched them fall apart. Nacre, the mother of pearl. Oysters create strong, yet delicate, spheres as a defense mechanism caused by damage to their bodies. Remembering, I tried to heal what I lost through the process of creation, to recreate the warmth of nostalgia and animate life into it again. In my attempt to be an oyster, I create a pearl.
